How do I tell my children, that we are getting a divorce?

How will my children feel and react?

How can I best help my children during this stage?

Will my kids be okay after the dicorce?

Paunchy Tony and the Divorce would like to help your children as well as all adults involved to understand and assimilate the divorce process. The idea of this book stems from our own desire to help our children to understand what the divorce means to them and how they can work off all the inevitable changes of the circumstances in the least painful manner. This book helps the divorce to infiltrate in both your kids and your own life as a natural, liveable, manageable process, which entails the least misunderstanding.

The book consists of two parts. In the first part you can read the story of Paunchy Tony, a fable, that introduces the main moments of divorce through the life of a kind dog family. The hero of the story, Paunchy Tony, is a very loveable character, with whom your child will most probably find easy to refer. Thus, through Paunchy Tony, the issue will be more acceptable and loveable to him or her, and hopefully even to yourself.

The story includes some interactive – tingeable, exposeable – games, too. As many little children can’t speak out their feelings, they express their mixed emotions through their drawings and games. Through interaction, you may develop a strong and great relationship with your kid. While your child draws or talks about the picture, he/she lives the event, which may bring to surface information, which could have been hidden for you otherwise. At all, the fact, that you tell a story to your children about and discuss divorce, you draw and tingle, smile and cry together, may dissolve enormous obstacles and project a more clear-out future for you and your loved ones.

The second part of the book is a comprehensive parental guide, which tries to give answers in the parents’ hands, that may help them to find their own path in the crisis of divorce and to turn the inevitable changes on their and their children’s benefit. The advices of the parental guide are arranged in easily readable and understandable bullet points, and can serve you as a quick aid package througout the darkest days of your divorce. The guide helps you to better undestand yourself, as well as your children. You also find ideas on how to ease or improve your relationship in this period.

Your positive attitude to divorce is crucial. If your behaviour suggest, that you are able to overcome all the difficulties and live a happy life despite your divorce, your children will not give way to dispair either.

Be sure, that there is happy life even after a divorce!

Yours sincerely,

The authors
